Season 2 Episode 1: Hoist Sails to the New World

Greetings Crimson Blades!


The long awaited Season 2 Episode 1 has been updated. It is time to set your sails for the New World!



The new episode in Season 2 begins in a seashore town called Malina. Although it is a small town located quite far from the mainland, it has everything you need from White Whale Inn, Constable’s Office, Bar, Magic Shack to Coffer Chasers Guild. So if you were looking for some place refreshing, then why not take a ferry to Malina to view the beautiful ocean and meet new and interesting people to hear their stories?



New Maps
I. Crescent Moon Island




Crescent Moon Island is an ancient island in shape of a crescent. The island is warm and extremely humid, and it is inhibited by many unusual creatures and primitive forms of life.

A rumor has it that the natives of the island are Jungle Trolls that were detached from the continent's troll clans in the past. Apparently, they possess the ability to tame giant Island Wasps and command them to fight in battle. Also, they are told to be worshiping a half-god creature known as Lakiora.


II. Ship Graveyard




Ship Graveyard started as a small reef. One day, a song of Sirens was heard by the sailors nearby in the storms, and their ship was pulled to the reef. Unfortunately, no one survived. Since then, the Sirens continued to seduce sailors and wrecked their ships one by one.

As the number of shipwrecks grew, they began to form an island of their own to become a part of the island. Now, the area is known as Ship Graveyard. Recently, according to one of the survivors, some of the dead have taken control of the territory and their force has been growing in numbers each day.


New Boss Monsters


I. Lakiora in Crescent Moon Island




Lakiora is an ancient snake which has lived since the creation of the island. It is currently the most powerful creature in Crescent Moon Island, and Jungle Trolls are worshipping Lakiora as their god. According to a source, ‘Lakiora’ means ‘The Ruler’ in language of trolls.



Taking advantage of its enormous size, Lakiora can climb high to gush out deadly poison. Since the poison can spread around the battlefield, you must be careful. Occasionally, Lakiora’s tail soars up from the ground. It is essential for you to move around while looking around cautiously. During the fight against Lakiora, you could take advantage of the Ballista Support to temporarily knock down Lakiora.


II. The Kraken at Ship Graveyard




Kraken is feared by all creatures living by the ocean including every sailor. It is also known as the Demon of the Sea. For a long time, Sirens have been putting the creature to deep slumber. Not a long ago, the songs of Sirens stopped for an unknown reason and Kraken awakened as a result. Since its awakening, Kraken has made Ship Graveyard as its home, sinking everything it sees into the sea.



Kraken battle requires teamwork and cooperation between party members. There are times where you must rescue your teammate from Kraken’s grab, or fend off Kraken’s legs to save the ship from sinking. More importantly you should always try to avoid Kraken’s powerful ink breath attack. When the battle starts, you will be challenged with multiple attack patterns and your task is to defeat the Kraken while holding the ship in one piece. In the chaotic battle, you must trust your team and fulfill your role to defeat the mighty Kraken.


New Sailing Procedure, Battle Progression and Reward


I. New Sailing Procedure




In season 2, you no longer need to return to town after defeating the final boss from a region. Instead, you could directly move to another map to fight other boss monsters without having to visit the town. The new Battle Sailing procedure allows you and your party members to come up with different strategies and challenge new bosses with haste.


II. New Ways to Progress and Fight




You could move back and forth between sectors to mine ores that you forgot to mine, or defeat monsters that you passed by. Additionally, even when the way is blocked by a rock or other obstacles, you can now climb over several obstacles (indicated by a light on the floor) to progress to next area.


III. Event Battles




When you are in a battle in Season 2, you have a chance of encountering various event battles. For example, Trial of Macha leads you to a puzzle of event battles, and in Morrighan’s Altar, your goal is to deliver the relic. By using a Treasure Map, you could discover Treasure Box hidden in certain area.


New Equipment and Maximum Level Expansion




Many new and trendy weapons and armors that match with the New World concept have been added. These items can be crafted and the ingredients can be found through battles in Season 2. However, the type of ingredients differs in accordance with the level of monsters. Thus, you must train to hunt higher level monsters to collect the required ingredients. Ultimately, you would need to form a party to gather ingredients for crafting powerful max level equipment.


Upgraded Character Customization




Character creation screen has changed and from now on, you can change your character’s body type. In season 2, you can check the character’s in-game appearance in character creation screen. This feature allows you to notice the changes immediately without having to enter the game. Furthermore, you could create an even more customized character of your own by changing its body type.


System Update: Ignition


01. Character Re-balancing




- All characters have been re-balanced. Damage ratio according to each character’s action has been uniformly applied, and the characters with lower damage ratio have been improved while other active skills that were perceived as excessively powerful have been standardized.
- Skills with little damage increase per rank-up have been adjusted to increase their damage.
- The delay after each successful attack has been reduced
- Timing dodge after an action along with some actions’ stamina consumption have been adjusted to improve the game’s overall balance.


02. Changes in Skill Usage




- Number of quick slots has increased from 5 to 10.
- Thus, Kai users may use each skill more strategically.
- In case of Evie, basic controls were unchanged, but when each skill is equipped to a quick slot, the specific spell can be casted immediately after focusing.
- Other consumable items and SP skills except feather type items can now be equipped and removed in battle areas.

Note: Already bought recipes that are still in your inventory will be replaced with gold via ingame mail system. Please check your inbox for the compensation.


03. Power Infusion & Profession Renewal


- Element Stone is needed for Power Infusion, and Element Stone can be crafted using profession.
- Professions have been divided into Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, Goldsmithing, and Taloring.
- Items can be dismantled through profession.
- Recipes are no longer needed since all recipes will be learned automatically when you learn a profession.


04. Character System Improvements


- Character’s HP has been rebalanced.
- HP increase per level has increased. Therefore, when a higher level character receives damage from low level monsters, it will receive less damage than before.
- Restored HP from HP Potions has increased.
- Merc Recovery Potion now recovers additional HP per character level on top of its original HP recovery.
- According to the number of titles acquired, the character’s title will change in color.
- When a character is first created, 5 quick slots and 3 storage slots will be given automatically.


05. Other System Improvements


- Bottom menu in game screen has been renewed for more convenience.
- In marketplace, you can use recipe search to easily find and purchase ingredients.
- Normal difficulty opened for Episode 10 battles.
- New Facebook link icon has been added to UI.

- When a player acquires a rare item from opening random boxes, a system message will be displayed at the bottom right of screen instead of the large message display at the center of screen.


06. Guild Expansion License




- Can be purchased by NX Cash only.
- Guild can be expanded by 50 or 100 per use.
- You can expand guild up to maximum of 300 members.


07. Guild Storage




- Can be purchased and expanded by NX Cash only.
- Maximum amount of Gold stored in Guild Storage: 10,000,000 Gold
- Maximum amount of Gold withdrawal per character: 2,500,000 Gold


System Update: Reboot


01. Character Growth System


- Previously, titles were needed to increase character’s stats.
- From now on, characters’ stats will increase automatically as they level.
- Stats acquired from titles will be removed. However, appropriate amount of stats will be assigned to the character according to level to prevent any disparity.


02. New Equipment System


- Equipment under Lv.60 has been diversified and it is now easier to craft and acquire them.

a) Equip Level Change (for item below Lv.60)
- Level requirement for equipping each item has been changed overall. Also, items’ stats will be adjusted according to level.

b) Grade System added to Armor Items (for item below Lv.60)
- Each armor item is now divided into 3 different grades: [Broken], [Normal], [Exquisite].
- [Broken] and [Normal] items can be obtained in battles, and they have relatively lower stats than [Exquisite].
- [Exquisite] items can be acquired through crafting.

c) New Weapon Items (Items below Lv.60)
- 10 types of Twin Swords, 4 types of Twin Spears, 10 types of Longswords, 2 types of Long Hammers, 9 types of Staffs, 2 types of Battle Scythes, 8 types of Battle Pillars, 2 types of Cestuses, and 7 types of Bows have been added.
- Other weapon items below certain grade can be obtained in battle, and they will be removed from crafting list.

d) Simplification of Crafting Ingredients
- Crafting difficulty has lowered and required ingredients for many items’ have been simplified.
- Some items have been removed and they will no longer be dropped in battle.


03. Differentiating Mainstream Story


- Main Story UI will be displayed in red color.
- From now on, you can easily locate the NPC to progress the main storyline.
- Some stories have been combined to the main story.


04. New Sub Stories


- Some sub stories will now appear automatically upon level-up.
- Skill stories will now appear automatically upon reaching the required level.
- From now on you can choose to view or hide low level stories.


05. Maximum Skill Rank Increased




- Some of the skills’ maximum rank has been adjusted to Rank 6.
- Common: Defense Mastery, Weight Endurance
- Lann: SP: Slashing High, SP: Fury No.7, Twin Spears: Moon Splitter
- Fiona: SP: Slashing High, Smash: Rose Thorns, SP: Shield Charge, Long Hammer: Honeybee Sting
- Evie: Magic Mastery, SP: Reverse Gravity, Mark of Death, Battle Scythe: Bloody Thread
- Karok: War Slam, Dropkick, SP: Hulking Fury


06. Guild Storage Now Available


- Save and Share items and Gold between Guild Members.
- Requirement: Guild Storage can be used by a guild with 20 members or more.
- Guild Storage is located in towns such as Colhen and Rocheste.
- Guild Master can manage each member’s usage rights.
- Guild Storage Expansion is available to any member in guild.
- However, when the number of members becomes lower than 20, you may only withdraw items or Gold.


07. Episode 8 Hero Mode




- Challenge yourself in Hero Mode of Episode 8.
- All bosses in Ortel Castle including Succubus are now available in Hero mode.
- Defeat the bosses from Episode 8 and you can acquire new Rank 8 Enchants and Succubus Cap.


08. New Rank 8 Enchants


- Customize your items with new enchants.
- 3 types of Rank 8 enchants with new abilities have been added.
- Newly added enchants can increase some stats while sacrificing others.
- For example, you could increase your attack power at the cost of reduced defense.
- Also, enchants that could only be used in cloth or plate armors are now available.
- New enchant scrolls can be obtained from Episode 8 Hero mode.


Season 2 Update Events


I. Free Repair (28 Nov – 05 Dec)
- All players can repair their equipment for free from 18:00 – 24:00 CET during the event period.


II. Extra Raid (28 Nov – 05 Dec)

- Additional raid departure will be available each day during event period.


III. Facebook Profile Picture Change Event (28 Nov – 26 Dec)


- 1 image per character (5 images in total) will be uploaded to Facebook Photo Album.
- Choose your favorite character’s Season 2 picture and change your profile picture with it.
- Leave a comment with your character name and character class.
- Lv.70 Weapons will be given to 10 Winners through a random draw
- Reward will be distributed on 2nd January, 2013


IV. Strange Traveler’s Reward Coupon (05 Dec – 20 Dec)




- Defeat a boss monster from any battle to obtain a Kitty Coupon.
- When you defeat a boss monster, an event core will drop, and you can obtain the Kitty Coupon by looting the event core.
- Collect a certain amount of Kitty Coupons (Cannot be traded)
- Players can exchange the coupons for items through Shire the Cat NPC.
- The store will be open for 24 hours a day.


V. Season 2 Update Celebration Weekend 1 (01 Dec – 02 Dec)


- Additional Evil Core will be dropped by bosses from 18:00 – 20:00 CET during event period.
- 2X EXP event will be in place from 20:00 – 22:00 CET during event period.


VI. Season 2 Update Celebration Weekend 2 (08 Dec – 09 Dec)


- Free Revive Event will be in progress from 19:00 – 22:00 CET during event period.


VII. Season 2 Update Celebration Weekend 3 (15 Dec – 16 Dec)


- 2X Guild EXP Event will be in progress from 18:00 – 22:00 CET during event period.
- You can receive 2X EXP by playing with guild members.

I. Guild Expansion License & Guild Storage Expansion Coupon



- Guild Expansion License: Increase your guild’s member capacity with the Guild Expansion License.
- Guild Expansion License (50): 7,900 NX, Guild Expansion License (100): 9,900 NX



- Guild Storage Expansion Coupon: The Guild Storage Expansion Coupon adds 24 slots to your inventory.
- Guild Storage Expansion Coupon (1): 7,900 NX


II. Season 2 Commemorative Package (28 Nov – 12 Dec)


Season 2 Commemorative Package: 12,000 NX
- Includes 10 Goddess Graces, 10 Goddess Graces (p), Combat EXP Capsule (7 days), 1000 AP Capsule, 5 Divine Blessing Stones


III. Dye Ampoule Box (05 Dec – 20 Dec)


- You can obtain a random colored dye.
- Dye Ampoule Box (1): 1,000 NX

IV. Artificer's Enhancement Package (05 Dec – 12 Dec)


- Includes 5 Enhancement Runes, 20 Empowered Enhancement Stones, and 10 Enhancement Elixirs.
- Artificer's Enhancement Package: 20,000 NX
- Empowered Enhancement Stone: A stone used for enhancing weapons and equipment items below level 80.
- Enhancement Elixir: An elixir that aids in the enhancement of weapons and equipment items.

Le patch introductif à la saison 2 modifie tellement de choses que les bras m'en sont tombés, et que je n'ai pas eu le courage d'en entreprendre la traduction : p

Notez que la course aux titres n'aboutira plus à l'obtention de statistiques supplémentaires, améliorant les performances de votre personnage. Désormais, les titres se satisfont de leur seul prestige individuel.

La raison en est simple : avec le temps, les vétérans ont fini par creuser, via les titres de gloire, un tel écart de performances avec les joueurs plus récents que ces derniers finissaient par être victime d'un certain élitisme de la part des premiers.
Du temps où j'étais encore sur ce jeu, on sentait déjà la chose venir, le nombre de titres acquis faisant la réputation d'une personne. Avec l'apparition des raids à 24 joueurs, récente, j'ai lu que vous n'étiez tout simplement pas pris si vous n'aviez pas un minimum de xxx titres débloqués.

Maintenant, l'absence de statistiques des titres va-t-elle changer la donne ?
Rien n'est moins sûr, le cumul de titres restant à mon avis toujours un critère de sélection. Il faudrait tout simplement pouvoir interdire l'accès au nombre de titres obtenus par tel ou tel.

Autre point intéressant, les attaques réussies se succèdent apparemment à un rythme plus soutenu.

Le craft est également facilité dans l'accumulation des composants.

Mais qui découvre-t-on sur l'écran de sélection des personnages sans y avoir été préparé, mmm ?
